The new generation of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray obtained, for the third time, the recognition "Car of the Year" granted by the magazine MotorTrend.
“We had waited so long for his arrival that we might think that there was no way to meet the level of expectations he created; but this all-new C8 Corvette is the perfect example of what it means to be MotorTrend's Car of the Year,” said Edward Loh, MotorTrend editor-in-chief. "Corvette offers impressive design and world-class performance."
As mentioned in the article, much of this recognition came from the incredible performance of the DCT transmission made by Tremec.
“Much of the success of this car is due to the superior speed with which the 8-speed Dual Clutch Transmission shifts. The C8 maintains excellent quarter-mile performance, covering 1,320 feet in 11.1 seconds at 123.2 mph. That beats the direct competitor Porsche 911 Carrera S by 0.1 second. Although the difference seems small, a victory is a victory; the Corvette is faster than the Porsche” emphasized Alex Nishimoto, editor of the publication.
Congratulations to the entire Tremec team for this great achievement! We are proud of you!
