The launch of this transmission joins Tremec's DCT portfolio of products for all sports car and super-car architectures.
This innovative dual-clutch technology allows high-speed shifting, offering handling and transfer of power and torque, which, together with intelligent controls and software designed internally by TREMEC, allow new handling possibilities.
“We are extremely proud of this achievement, the result of the work of a multidisciplinary team and the integration of our production plants in Mexico, the United States and Belgium. The DCT not only meets the demanding specifications required by our customers but is another step forward in the technological development of the industry. With this technology we will open the door to new markets”, commented Alejandro de la Barreda, CEO of KUO.
Optimal performance.
The new TR-9080 DCT family combines TREMEC's ??experience in manufacturing high-performance transmissions with mechatronics and cutting-edge software design. "This new transmission represents an investment in resources to create the best DCT in the world" shared Antonio Herrera, General Director of TREMEC.
With a dual clutch that engages and releases in perfect software-controlled timing, the TR-9080 DCT can shift from one speed to another in less than 100 milliseconds without interrupting torque, offering unprecedented comfort, efficiency and engine performance.
All systems, including equipment such as low leakage solenoid valves and electro-hydraulic actuation systems, control systems and software, were developed in-house for maximum performance. This dual-clutch technology offers unprecedented torque capacity, manufactured with optimized friction materials, activating cooling only when required, thereby increasing efficiency.
Tremec, five decades of power.
The investment for DCT was announced by our Group in 2016 as part of the expansion strategy for the coming years. In addition to investments in technological development, TREMEC is also increasing its production capacity with a new design, development and manufacturing center in Michigan, United States, which began operations in 2017.
"This new manufacturing and technical center are part of our company's coordinated global expansion strategy, through which we seek to position TREMEC as an industry leader for the most demanding automotive applications," added Dave Hadley, Global Director of Business Development of TREMEC.
For more than 50 years, we have positioned ourselves as one of the leaders in the production of high-performance automotive transmissions, with applications for different platforms, from sports cars to recreational and agricultural vehicles.
The company is characterized by constant innovation in its processes and the high quality of its products, with strict control of emissions, fuel efficiency, torque capacity, and refinement, which makes it a benchmark in this industry.
