TREMEC

New TREMEC USA manufacturing plant

TREMEC Corporation is in the final stages of preparing a new modern facility for the design, development and manufacture of transmissions and other powertrain products for the North American automotive market.

The company moved its Plymouth, Michigan-based operations to its new facility in mid-August 2017 and will expand activities over the next 18 months.

The project represents the company's first major manufacturing operations in the United States.

The new 125,000-square-foot building will allow TREMEC to expand Michigan operations from technical and customer support to a full-service facility with transmission engineering, business development, testing and assembly operations under one roof. Automotive transmission operations are expected to produce high-torque dual-clutch transmissions for OEM vehicles. As a result, the project received the Michigan Business Development Program.
