Biodigester Usage

Through the installation of biodigesters, we have been able to achieve multiple environmental benefits in our Pork Meat business:

  • Proper use and disposal of organic waste (biomass)
  • Generation and consumption of clean electrical energy through the use of motor generators
  • GHC emission reduction
  • Wastewater treatment and irrigation reuse

-11% Total GHG emissions

i) Emissions of greenhouse gases and compounds were computed with the emission factor for electricity consumption from the national electricity system and the independent supplier 2018.
ii) A restatement of the information for 2018 was made, based on the GHG verification carried out by an accredited OV. The previously published data was Consumer sector scope 1= 37,397 tco2e, Consumer sector scope 2= 67,743 tco2e, Chemical sector scope 1= 67,856 tco2e and Chemical sector scope 2= 111,904 tco2e.
iii) For the Consumer sector 2019, process emissions were not considered

Conservation Area

In order to protect natural habitat of the region, we have 800 hectares for conservation, housing more than 100 animal and plant species, some of them within the nom-059-SEMARNAT. The project has a council in which universities, researchers and authorities collaborate in order to study and preserve the natural resources of wild flora and fauna, including threatened or endangered species.
