At KUO, we maintain a focus on innovation and efficiency that allows us to mitigate the impact our operations may have on the environment. We have goals and programs oriented to the production of clean energy, water reuse and waste reduction, mainly.

At all of our businesses, we develop sustainable actions against climate change and implement practices to reduce our environmental impacts and protect natural resources.
KUO maintains a firm commitment to take action against climate change, during the year, we carried out seven reforestations with the support of strategic alliances with civil organizations and the participation of our collaborators and their families as volunteers.

With the support of volunteers from our businesses, we carry out beach cleaning in the states of Yucatan, Campeche, Quintana Roo, Veracruz and Tamaulipas.
With the aim of raising awareness about caring for the environment and the importance of biodiversity conservation, 44 visits were made to the Kekén Conservation Area, which is legally made up of 800 hectares. These activities also reflect our commitment to advance SDG number 15 of the 2030 Agenda.
Thanks to the participation of 40 volunteers who trained more than 500 children on the importance of separating and disposing of plastics correctly, as well as the installation of stations in a primary school in Tlaxcala and in the Resirene facilities, during the year, it was possible to recover waste so that it can be used again as a resource. Additionally, the heads of the TREMEC Environment Area gave talks on waste separation to primary school students in Querétaro.
TREMEC Garden was inaugurated in the Querétaro facilities, which has more than 60 types of species including flowers, vegetables and aromatic plants. For the realization of this project, more than 100 collaborators participated, who have voluntarily given themselves the task of planting and caring for this garden, which helps to raise awareness of the importance of environmental education.
Every year KUO businesses carry out Safety and Environment Week in which employees can invite their families to listen to talks on the importance of caring for the environment and on preventing accidents at work and in their homes.+1,800 participants
At KUO we have a strong commitment towards health, not only that of our employees, but also for the communities around us. We constantly carry out health promotion and disease prevention campaigns, in addition to promoting healthier lifestyles through physical activation and healthy dietary programs.
Through a mobile medical office we contribute to the well-being of Mayan communities that do not have access to medical service, giving consultations, delivering medicine and recommending the appropriate treatments for each situation.

With the assistance of communities, the necessary furniture to open 4 new Kekén Health Care Centers in vulnerable communities, was donated.

During the last four years, KUO carried out a comprehensive water access and sanitation program, with the donation of ferroconcrete to primary schools in Communities of San José del Rincón, Edo. Mex.

Likewise, the rehabilitation of restrooms was carried out at the Felipe Santiago Xicotencatl primary school, Tlaxcala, benefiting the 500 students who compriseit.
For three consecutive years we have led specialists who carry out dynamics for children focused on avoiding child abuse and intra-family violence, in the communities where we carry out volunteer activities.

Through Maxicarne, the Pork Meat business stores network, more than 12,600 tons of meat were donated to 17 civil associations.

In order to promote the typical celebrations of Mexico, such as the day of the dead, Christmas posadas, children's day and regional festivals, we donated more than two tons of Kekén pork, food, piñatas, typical sweets and infrastructure to the communities of which we are part.

In order to promote halthy spaces, we continue with the conservation of two parks: La Noria and Itzimina in Yucatán.
Volunteers from four of the businesses donated 350 Kilos of plastic lids to threeinstitutions fighting against childhood cancer. The lids are taken to Collection Centers and from there, to plastic injection companies for recycling and toys, which provide financial resources for this material and these are used in care programs for minors diagnosed with cancer.
The Aftermarket delivered new blankets to communities in the State of Mexico, where winter temperatures can drop below zero degrees.
We recognize education as a fundamental basis for creating a better future. With the participation of volunteers, associations, government agencies, schools and universities, we carry out various activities that seek to promote values, foster love for our country and culture, and encourage the creation of ideas and research for the benefit of the environment.
Recognizing the importance of promoting education, the Aftermarket business grants an annual economic recognition to the children of employees who demonstrate having a result with Academic Excellence in the school year.

Every year we hold a summer course for the relatives of our collaborators. These courses are open to children from 4 to 13 years old and in them we seek to publicize KUO’s values, raise awareness about caring for the environment and involve children in cultural activities that promote their development. On this occasion the course was based on three main activities:
For 7 years we have promoted a chair at the Faculty of Engineering of the Anahuac del Norte University, focused on promoting research to generate sustainable alternatives and decrease the consumption of resources. This professorship proudly bears the name DESC Chair.
Aftermarket and Transmissions businesses donated a transmission and a differential axle to be used in the practices of the students of the Culhuacán Campus of the National Polytechnic Institute.
We have an online training program to promote the profession of automotive mechanics and improve the quality of their services.

In alliance with Construyendo Comunidad Integrales, A.C., KUO donated the material for the construction and electrical infrastructure of two classrooms at the Héroes del Sur primary school in Tianguistenco, Edo. Mex. These classrooms were built by volunteers from the Corporate and the Aftermarket business.
