As of the first week of September, more than 500 inhabitants of Calcehtok and other neighboring Opichén police stations will access consultations and medicines for free, after the inauguration of the Medical Attention Center (CAM) of the Kekén company in said locality, as part of its actions of the sustainability and social development model.
With this opening, the pork company continued with the expansion of these medical dispensaries throughout the Yucatecan territory, becoming the third to be qualified to attend the needs of the families of the communities and strengthen the municipal health services.
In this way, Kekén will provide medical guidance on respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases, as well as training in prevention measures to reduce the chances of contagion by Covid-19, so the facilities are also adapted to comply with the corresponding health protocols.
During the opening event headed by the mayor of Opichén, Ricardo Ordoñez Chan and the Director of Production of Kekén, Alberto Alfonso Navarrete, both highlighted the coordinated work between the private initiative and the municipal authorities that resulted in benefits and favorable actions for the society.
Ordoñez Chan and Alfonso Navarrete agreed that the expansion of this initiative in more communities represents direct support in health care and savings in the family economy, sensitive issues due to the effects of the health contingency.
The Calcehtok CAM joins those established in the Nenelá police stations in Cantamayec and Chunchucmil in Maxcanú, with which they estimate to reach nearly 200 weekly consultations among the three properties.
The Medical Care Centers are part of the Kekén Sustainability Model Health Line that integrates actions to promote sports, conferences against addictions, that take place in various Yucatecan communities.
